Alpha Kappa Alpha Barbie Doll
64The Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Barbie Doll was unveiled at the Alpha Kappa Alpha Centennial which is their national convention this past July. The AKA was founded as the first sorority for Black women back in 1908. They have a wonderful Sisterhood which has empowered women to strive for greater service, justice, and social good. To celebrate their Sisterhood and honor them at this centennial celebration the Mattel AKA Barbie Doll or Alpha Kappa Alpha Centennial Barbie Doll had its debut at this wonderful convention. The colors of AKA (Alpha Kappa Alpha) are salmon pink and apple green so in the great tradition of these colors the AKA Centennial Barbie Doll is wearing a gown of chiffon with these colors represented. Mattel Barbie Dolls in the past have represented many different facets of women's lives but never honoring a sorority. The AKA Centennial Barbie is the first of its kind. If the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Barbie Doll is something you would like to purchase or order to add to your collectibles and you are wondering where to buy this little part of history don't fret it is finally available.
